Moving & Handling

Duration - 6 Hours
Moving & Handling Hoist

Our Full Day Moving and Handling Training course for new care staff provides a comprehensive introduction to safe moving and handling practices within health and social care settings. The course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills required to safely support individuals with mobility and transfer needs while minimising the risk of injury.

The training covers the principles of moving and handling, risk assessment, safe use of equipment and transfer aids, posture and body mechanics, communication during assisted moves, and promoting dignity, independence, and person-centred care. Learners will also participate in practical exercises to develop safe and effective techniques for a range of moving and handling situations.

This course supports compliance with the SSSC Codes of Practice, Health and Social Care Standards, Manual Handling Operations Regulations, and relevant health and safety legislation within health and social care environments.
