Gail Fergusson: SVQ Lead

I've supported a wide range of clients throughout my career, always driven by a passion for helping others grow. I understand how overwhelming starting an SVQ can feel, so I focus on clear, consistent, and encouraging support, helping candidates go from “I’m not sure” to “I’ve done it!” I lead with heart, dedication, and a deep commitment to helping care professionals succeed and feel proud of their achievements. I value honesty, compassion, and a good laugh. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares and supports you every step of the way, you’re in the right place.

Carol Stuart: Training Lead

I was born in Dundee but have  moved around the East coast of Scotland due to my love of adventure and my job. I am a qualified nurse in learning disabilities which took me as far as Caithness where I became a home manager. Part of my role was training and I  left nursing to focus on this role and have done this for the past twenty years.

I love meeting people and am passionate about having fun in any training session alongside the serious element.

I enjoy when participants are engaged and taking part in activities, having discussions and see how training will help them in their role.

Mike Riddell: SQA Assessor/Verifier

My background is a mix of Education, Early years and Adult health and social care. I have worked as a Teacher, trainer, care worker, support worker and manager. These range of experiences have lead me to become a full time SVQ Assessor. I love that I can combine my knowledge and experience to support others to complete their qualifications.

Outside of work... I do more work. I love my job so much that I do some extra work on weekends and evenings. But I still make time for the things I enjoy. I like my holidays. Time to unwind and shut off with the family, you might also find me at a concert or the theatre seeing a show.

I enjoy sports, (watching more than playing), Football, tennis and athletics are my favourites

Karen Taylor: SQA Assessor/Verifier

My whole career has been in the care sector, working up from a carer to management. I came across to assessing approx 12 years ago and love it! I love supporting candidates to achieve their award and seeing them gain confidence along the way. In my spare time I love to travel and do strength training.

Graeme Taylor: SQA Assessor/Verifier

I have many years of experience supporting people in the industry and have been an Assessor/Verifier for over 25 years. I thoroughly enjoy my role in supporting SVQ candidates from all ages and backgrounds to achieve their awards.

Amy Allan: SVQ Assessor

I'm excited to join the team as an SVQ Assessor, supporting learners on their journey to achieving recognised qualifications and developing their professional skills.

I previously worked as a Support Worker for five years, which gave me a strong foundation in delivering compassionate, person-centred care. Now, I’m proud to be supporting the training and development of social care staff, helping them build confidence, grow in their roles, and achieve their SVQs.

I’m passionate about learning, development, and making a positive impact in the social care sector. Looking forward to connecting with others in the field and contributing to a high-quality, skilled workforce.

Rosemary logan: SVQ Assessor/Verifier

Hi everyone, I’ve recently retired from full-time employment as a care home manager and bring over 40 years’ experience in the care sector and training roles, working across local authorities, colleges, and the voluntary sector.

I’ve supported children, individuals with additional needs, older people, and those requiring mental health support. I’m passionate about mentoring staff to develop their skills and achieve recognised qualifications, helping maintain high standards of care.

I’ve delivered training, assessed SVQs, and carried out internal verification. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, tai chi, swimming, reading, and spending time with my family.

I look forward to working with SRS Training, the team, and yourselves.
