Enhancing expertise through tailored training and support

Gail Fergusson: SVQ Lead
I've supported a wide range of clients throughout my career, always driven by a passion for helping others grow. I understand how overwhelming starting an SVQ can feel, so I focus on clear, consistent, and encouraging support, helping candidates go from “I’m not sure” to “I’ve done it!” I lead with heart, dedication, and a deep commitment to helping care professionals succeed and feel proud of their achievements. I value honesty, compassion, and a good laugh. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares and supports you every step of the way, you’re in the right place.
Carol Stuart: Training Lead
I was born in Dundee but have moved around the East coast of Scotland due to my love of adventure and my job. I am a qualified nurse in learning disabilities which took me as far as Caithness where I became a home manager. Part of my role was training and I left nursing to focus on this role and have done this for the past twenty years.
I love meeting people and am passionate about having fun in any training session alongside the serious element.
I enjoy when participants are engaged and taking part in activities, having discussions and see how training will help them in their role.

Laura McEwan: SQA Assessor
I have worked in Social Care since I left school, going on for over 25 years. I have done every role possible in the care sector and love it. I have been an assessor for the past 6 years and I genuinely love my job. With being a mum, I don't have much free time but when I do get some, I enjoy wild swimming and resetting my head.
Karen Taylor: SQA Assessor
My whole career has been in the care sector, working up from a carer to management. I came across to assessing approx 12 years ago and love it! I love supporting candidates to achieve their award and seeing them gain confidence along the way. In my spare time I love to travel and do strength training.

Graeme Taylor: SQA Assessor
I have many years of experience supporting people in the industry and have been an Assessor/Verifier for over 25 years. I thoroughly enjoy my role in supporting SVQ candidates from all ages and backgrounds to achieve their awards.
Amy Allan: SVQ Assessor
I'm excited to join the team as an SVQ Assessor, supporting learners on their journey to achieving recognised qualifications and developing their professional skills.
I previously worked as a Support Worker for five years, which gave me a strong foundation in delivering compassionate, person-centred care. Now, I’m proud to be supporting the training and development of social care staff, helping them build confidence, grow in their roles, and achieve their SVQs.
I’m passionate about learning, development, and making a positive impact in the social care sector. Looking forward to connecting with others in the field and contributing to a high-quality, skilled workforce.
